Physical Update

Ella had her 4 month check-up today, so here are the obligatory exam results:

Weight: 13.8 lbs.
Height: 24.5"
Head Circumference: 16"

According to the doctor, Ella is in a perfect range of physical specs, not too skinny, not too fat. Also, we are encouraged that he thinks she is very aware for her age and responds well to people. Melody tells me she was watching every little thing the doctor was doing in the office. The bad part, though, came when it was time for her three shots. She is doing ok tonight, a little fussy, but overall she's toughin' it out. We were given some drops for what is likely a clogged tear duct. Hopefully the medication will take care of the problem soon and Ella won't have too much of that goup in her eye anymore.

Besides her check-up, a couple more minor updates: We gave her some pieces of mango to suck on the other day which she really loved. She hasn't taken to eating the rice cereal, though, which we introduced to her yesterday. But the doc says to keep trying and also to try once a day to get her to take some formula.

so glad to hear she is doing so well. I think we all knew everything the Dr. said, but it is good to hear him say it too!! I can't believe she still has that clogged tear duct. But maybe now it will get cleared up. We will pray the shot reactions will be minimal.

Yay ella! i'm not the least bit surprised that she did so well. Golly, look at her gene pool.

I skipped rice with one of mine...too bland. went right to oatmeal cereal. you could try that if you like.

its been a little too long for me to remember when and what i fed my babies. I will have to get out the journal pages. Melody, i gave them to you for jay's first year. Maybe something in there will tell you what i was feeding him at ella's age.

Aaah! Yet another wonderful family trait...logging every detail of the little ones lives. Gotta love it!

oh and i forgot to mention lisa, that i saved all their teeth too!! Too funny. Not sure where they are now, probably in a landfill somewhere in PA. I know i showed them to one of them and they were grossed out! They look like dried up corn kernels.
