El Matador
Great rock formations. Supposedly the name comes from the rocks resembling bull fighters? I didn't think so, but there you have it.

The water is still pretty chilly, so we spent the time exploring the rocks, little caves, and coves. And of course letting Ella do her own thing in the sand. It was really a picture perfect day.

Sycamore Cove
This beach is a nice place further up the Pacific Coast Highway that Jun told us about. They have grills and tables so you can eat while you enjoy the sun and sand. Plus plenty of trees for shade, which is always important to Melody.

Besides eat, we mostly just let Ella play in her tent with the sand and water (which I had to fetch from the ocean several times...the faucet located just a few steps away wouldn't do).

This place also had cool rocks that had some kind of sea life growing on them. Ella came with the boys to explore a bit.

Cool thing about climbing around these rocks was the tide was coming in. Once you go into the little alcove and climb up, you can't really get out easily once the tide is all the way in. So we couldn't stay long...and Ella kept getting nervous about the water getting closer :)

Yeah, there are some good things about living in California.
