But...to summarize just in case: shortly after Mom had the new carpeting put in, I (Jay) was carrying a plate of spaghetti and somehow allowed the entire contents to slide right off and land on the floor. I thought that would be my last day...Miraculously, she was able to get the stain out, and I survived.
I've managed to make it to today, and not too surprisingly, an almost identical event occurred the other night. I was taking my heated up plate of spaghetti out of the microwave, and yes, once again, everything slid right off.
I guess after 15 years, nothing's changed. Luckily, this time around there was no carpet. I did get an amazed stare from Melody, as in, how could I possibly have done this?Anyway, no bodily injury, no harm done. That's what I say. Oh, and spaghetti is way too slippery.

LOL! I do remember that story and so enjoyed this latest one! try putting the parm cheese on your plate first. perhaps it'll act as a "glue" thus preventing future accidents. too funny...
SSOoooo funny! good suggestion from your aunt lisa! never would have thought of that! but beware, Mel, my mother always said "everything always happens in 'threes'"
love that story. Now that is behind me. I was pretty upset that day, but it was a lesson to me in keeping things in prospective. Not all that important in the scheme of life!
thanks for sharing. Made me laugh.
lynn...how bout the time the geating twins got brownies all over the floor - ground in?!!! eeeps!
oh jay! you still keep us laughing. love you!
correction lis ~ that brownie incident was with John and Tracie's kids. I thought i would die. I just gritted my teeth until they left and then proceeded to fall to my knees and start scrubbing. That too came out with out much trouble.
mom are you sure? i remember it being the geatings... lol
i'm positive. I remember cause mrs. loux (nancy) was there and she told me she never serves brownies when kids are over for that very reason.
i'm sure the geatings got something on my rug tho.
