Our Reading Update

You may have noticed our reading list on the sidebar has stayed the same for quite some time. Well, I had high hopes of finishing the book I'm reading at OCNJ- Alaska by James Michener. This book has been dragging on for months. Alas, I only finished about 3 pages the whole vacation. ***Sigh***

Hard to get much reading done at the beach in our family (do you ever find yourself rereading the same sentence about 10 times, only to realize you are not concentrating because you are listening to the conversation going on around you?). The high winds at the beach certainly didn't help either. And I think Melody has given up on her Boleyn Inheritance book. But hey, we did all watch The Other Boleyn Girl, the movie (again) in Doylestown the other day. Does that count?

Whew, we really need to catch up on our reading. I think the only one progressing of the three of us is Ella. We picked up a bunch of new books for her at Rice's on Tuesday. Maybe instead of trying to find time to read our books, we should (in the style of Seinfeld's George Costanza) just have Ella read them and tell us what they are about...or maybe, Books on Tape???

Sorry to say, you might have to wait until Ella's in college before you actually have a chance to finish a book....seriously. It seems that it's about the last thing on the "To Do" list and consequently you never get to it. Way too many other distrationns. Books on tape might be good, but not as relaxing since you're usually doing something else while you're listening. Maybe a date night, no Ella, at Barnes & Noble, once a week for a year or two could possibly get you through ALASKA. Maybe you should try a shorter book with short chapters. Good luck!!!
Sorry to hear it was a l-o-n-g flight home for you guys. I hate that ride even withour a cranky baby!
