Cold Snap

Like much of the nation, we have been getting some really cold weather lately (must be that pesky "climate change"). In and around LA, temperatures can vary greatly depending on where you are. It hasn't gotten to the freezing point in Burbank, but several places close by have, and I heard today there was snow in Malibu. Quite the unusual thing for Southern California. Needless to say, it's a BIG deal to everyone around here. In fact, even I am realizing how acclimated I have become to warmer weather. I usually start complaining when it gets below 55 degrees.

This sudden change in weather has shown us that Ella doesn't really have too much winter wear, so we will be going out this weekend to get her some. Going out the other night to the Americana, we bundled her up as best we could.

Just threw these in because she looks so cute in her hat.
In other holiday news: We are woefully behind on preparations. It's just been crazy busy. We're hoping to get our tree tomorrow and do most of our Christmas shopping this weekend. On the plus side: our stockings have been hung by the chimney (or closest thing to it) with care and there are already many things to put in them. Sometimes it's easy to forget how much we have and should be thankful for.

Amen, Jay. We do have so much. and SO much to be thankful for. Honestly, it's a struggle to shop for the boys each year, as they don't really ask for much and it's difficult to think of what they need. as for a tree, we still don't have ours. we'll pick one up this weekend. usually they're on sale by now! wahoo!
